At 950m, Helvellyn is the third highest peak in the Lake District, and this climb is on most experienced hikers’ bucket list. Striding Edge is a grade-1 scramble and not for the faint hearted. But you’ll be rewarded with big views, stunning scenery, and a great sense of achievement.

About the event

This will be a day to remember. We’ll start from the Glenridding car park and ascend via Mires Beck and the famous Hole in the Wall stile. A demanding 8.5 mile hike, you will traverse steep, exposed, and rocky terrain over around six hours of climbing.
