FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions or queries. This is all about your fitness journey..... we're here to help YOU.

I’M INTERESTED IN A TRAIL RUN. HOW FAR DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO RUN?

I DON'T WANT TO RUN. CAN I WALK?

Yes. Ashby's Adventure Trails and Treks is much more than a Coventry running group. We are also a walking and hiking group, and providers of challenging and rewarding outdoor experiences.

We can arrange a walk or trek to suit you according to your fitness level. Take a look at our upcoming events to see what we have planned. If you don't see something you like, get in touch for a chat.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF A TRAIL RUN PACKAGE?

The price you pay for a package includes your accommodation and a specified number of organised runs or walks. You can be sure you will have somewhere warm and comfortable to stay, delicious food and drink, good company, and a qualified run leader with you on your runs at all times.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?

All our run leaders are qualified. They hold a United Kingdom Athletics (UKA) Coach License. When you run with Ashby's Adventure Trails and Treks, you will always have one of our run leaders with you. In addition, our team members have different qualifications, skills, talents and experience surrounding sports, running, nutrition and wellbeing.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, Ashby's Adventure Trails and Treks is fully insured.

DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL KIT?

The most important piece of kit is suitable footwear. If you're running on the road, you will need good trainers or running shoes. For trail running, it is best to have running shoes with good tread as well as built-in protection, foot support, and stability for uneven surfaces. For mountainous walks, you will need hiking boots. If you've got any questions, please get in touch.

HOW SAFE ARE THE ROUTES?

Here at Ashby's Adventure Trails and Treks, we have a catalogue of runs in and around Coventry with which we are very familiar. Whether you want an easy 5km run in Coventry City Centre, or a 20km trail run further afield to Kenilworth or beyond, we've got the right running route for you. Since our routes are tried and tested, they're as safe as can be.

If you're climbing Snowdon or another mountain with us, rest assured, we've traversed the route many times. However, mountains are dangerous places. When you venture out into mountainous areas, there are always going to be challenges. This isn't necessarily a bad thing! Experienced and empathic, we'll do all we can to keep you safe and ensure you have a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding time.

Wherever we go, whether it's running, walking or hiking, a skilled map reader will have plotted the route. We also visit the site to check it's as safe as possible. In any case, you will never be left on your own; when you walk or run with us, there will always be someone with you.

If you're ensure of anything at all, please get in touch

WHERE WILL I SLEEP ON AN OVERNIGHT STAY?

Most of our accommodation is in Youth Hostels. We visit every site to make sure the accommodation is warm and comfortable. You'll enjoy staying in a beautiful location as close as possible to the area in which you are exploring.

HOW MUCH IS IT?
