Mountain Climbing Events this Autumn and Winter
Fancy a mountain hike this autumn or winter? You're in luck. We are planning the following mountain climbing events in Wales this year:Â
18 October 2024 - Cadair Idris Mountain Climb
Cadir Idris is the highest mountain in southern Snowdonia. Join us for a day climb on 18 October 2024. Meeting at 8am in the car park at the Cader Idris Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve, we’ll take the Minffordd Path to the peak of the mountain, which is 893m (2,930 feet) high. We plan to be back at the car park around 1pm.

8 November 2024 - Snowdon Sunrise Mountain Climb
If you fancy being on the highest mountain in England and Wales when day breaks, join us for our Snowdon Sunrise mountain climb on 8 November 2024. We will need to start walking from our cars in Pen y Pass car park at 04:30 am to be in time for daybreak on the summit, so we’ll be walking in the dark. This is a fantastic event that will challenge and reward you.Â

6 December 2024 - Pen Y Fan Mountain Climb and Waterfalls
Join us in early winter when we explore Pen Y Fan and the waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. At 886m, Pen Y Fan is one of the ten highest mountains in Wales. Our climb starts from the Storey Arms at the foot of the mountain and we’ll stick together for this enjoyable hike. We'll climb the mountain first, and then enjoy the Four Waterfalls Walk, a distance of 8.5 km, which should take us around 2.5 hours.

Can I Join You For a Mountain Hike in Wales?
Yes you can. However, you do need to be fairly fit to join us on a mountain climbing event, ie, able to run 5k without stopping. This is so we can all stay safe and enjoy the experience.
How Much Is It?
The cost is £25 per person, or £10 for AAT&Ts runners. You can find out more or sign up on our website.Â
Can I Bring a Friend?
Yes, as long as they are fit enough. However, numbers are limited because group sizes are small for safety reasons. Any questions, just ask.
As well as these mountain hikes in Wales, we've got other plans. Our other plans include:Â
9 March 2025 - A trail run in the Malvern Hills.
June 2025 - Valencia - A run in the Spanish city’s beautiful 9km long park, the Turia Gardens, and an overnight hotel stay.
Weekend Date TBC - Hike and Park Run in Conwy, North Wales- This event will include a 5km walk to Aber Falls, a beautiful 120 foot waterfall in the Carneddau mountains, Snowdonia, and an overnight stay in the Conwy Youth Hostel. On the Saturday morning, we can enter Conwy Park Run, which starts at the RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve and heads towards the medieval Conwy castle and along the river estuary.
Chamonix - Chamonix is a resort near the junction of France Switzerland and Italy. Staying at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps, we’ll cover some challenging trails in and around the mountains of the French Alps.
We’ll keep you posted when we know dates and prices.Â
Any questions? Please ask. We'd love you to join us for a mountain hike soon.
